Kalitta Coming to Norwalk Raceway Park's Night Under Fire July 1, 2006
The annual Night Under Fire is July 1, 2006 at the famous Norwalk Raceway Park, and NHRA Top Fuel driver Doug Kalitta will be among the headliners.
Norwalk, OH (PRWEB) June 13, 2006 -- Norwalk Raceway Park http://www.NorwalkRaceway.com will host the hottest NHRA Top Fuel driver in the country, Doug Kalitta, at Night Under Fire July 1, 2006. Kalitta is the eighth Nitro Funny Car Driver in Norwalk’s lineup, featuring thirteen time World Champion John Force, AAA Rookie of the Year Robert Hight, and Tony Pedregon, who is currently fifth in the NHRA Fuel Funny Car point standings with two straight victories.
Doug Kalitta will be driving his cousin Scott’s Fuel Car, with “The Old Bounty Hunter” legendary Connie Kalitta by his side. Norwalk President Bill Bader, Jr. made the announcement of Kalitta joining the lineup soon after his phone call was returned by the Kalitta family patriarch, Connie. Bader was exuberant. “With Doug on a roll in Top Fuel Dragster, what a thrill to welcome him and Connie to Norwalk for a run in a Funny Car,” Bader said. “This is a night dedicated to the family, and we are proud to have as our guests the legendary Kalitta family.”
Night Under Fire features eight Fuel Funny Cars, national points leader Ashley Force driving her A/Fuel Dragster, four jet dragsters including the Queen of Diamonds Jessie Harris, Bob Motz’s 220 mile an hour Jet Kenworth, Ken Nelson’s Wheelstanding “Cool Bus,” a pair of Nostalgia Fuel Dragsters, The Bar’s Leaks Supercharged Thunder, and Norwalk’s Super 16.
