In 2006 PowaCycle became the first UK supplier to launch electric bikes in the UK powered by Lithium Ion batteries, at just £599 inc. VAT. Lithium Ion powered electric bikes are still rare and most are typically priced in the circa £1,000 bracket.

PowaCycle’s new high specification Lithium Ion powered electric bikes Puma and Lynx are aluminium alloy built for exceptionally lightweight characteristics at just 18kg and 20kg respectively. The Lithium Ion batteries deliver maximum powered distance from batteries weighing less than half the equivalent NiMH batteries and less than a quarter of a lead acid battery. Puma and Lynx are both folding bikes, so they can conveniently be carried by holiday makers. Puma and Lynx are also hybrid electric bikes that combine assisted pedal power and independent power operated by bike throttle.

With PowaCycle’s hybrid bikes all options are available. A rider can travel under either electrically assisted power or motor only to avoid perspiration or burn off any excess physical energy by cycling.

PowaCycle is the brand name behind high specification electric bikes at exceptionally competitive prices. PowaCycle is part of Ultima Networks PLC, a group of companies committed to producing “green” environmentally friendly emission free products, designed to enhance everyday life.

PowaCycle offer a range of models from leading edge lightweight technology to electric bikes designed for the budget buyer. See http://www.PowaCycle.co.uk for the full product range.
