(PRWEB) June 28, 2006 -- The Keene Group, the nation's premiere source for union avoidance products and services including training, research and consulting is offering a two hour online seminar entitled "State of the Unions." Visit http://www.laborrelationstraining.com/webinar.asp to register. CLE and SPHR Credit has been applied for.

In 2005, well-funded unions such as the SEIU, UNITE HERE, UFCW, and Teamsters left the revered AFL-CIO to form the new Change To Win Federation. Faced with new competition, the AFL-CIO has thrown its support to its remaining unions and strengthened its commitment to pass the Employee Free Choice Act -- a ground-breaking bill that if passed, would change the landscape of American labor law by instituting compulsory unionism. This schism in organized labor has already led to a dramatic increase of union wins through secret ballot elections and the controversial neutrality and card check methods.

In addition, the Change To Win Federation has pledged a record $750 million dues dollars for organizing new members. Union prevention is no longer just about positive employee relations; it is about knowing your workforce, knowing how the mind of the union organizer works, and learning the answers to important questions, such as “what is the contract density in my area?” and “when do those contracts expire?” In three simple words, today’s unions have “changed to win.” In today’s State of the Unions presentation, The Keene Group will discuss the drastic changes that have reshaped the landscape of organized labor and how this could affect employee relations at your company.
