SWsoft Launches Worldwide Partner Program for Resellers, Integrators

Program for Virtuozzo server virtualization offers training, discounts, and co-marketing.

Herndon, VA (PRWEB) June 30, 2006 -- SWsoft, the leading provider of operating system virtualization and automation, today announced the SWsoft Partner Network to qualify and reward channel partners that sell the Virtuozzo virtualization products. Members of the SWsoft Partner Network receive product discounts, sales leads, market development funds, discounts on training and access to the SWsoft partner portal resources.

Today’s announcement follows a month-long pilot program with some 20 partners from around the world who have already joined. One early success story included Thin Client Computing in Scottsdale, Arizona delivering Virtuozzo in an implementation at one of the largest cable company operators in the U.S.

SWsoft is actively recruiting resellers and systems integrators to join the partner program, which outlines requirements, as well as benefits for partners. There are two levels in the SWsoft Partner Network – Certified and Premier.

According to industry analyst firm, IDC, the virtualization market is expected to grow to $15 billion worldwide by 2009. The proliferation of servers in the data center has led to increased complexity and costs. Virtualization helps to reverse this trend by dramatically reducing the need for adding physical servers and their associated capital, power, software and management costs.

“This is an opportunity for partners to get in on the ground floor to help meet rapidly accelerating customer demand for OS-level virtualization and provide customers with a more efficient and scalable virtualization solution,” said Darren Harvey, director of enterprise channel sales, SWsoft. “Our company is committed to the channel and has built a model around providing world-class sales support to our partners starting with marketing initiatives, sales leads and extending through the entire sales cycle.”

“We had a significant early win as part of the new SWsoft reseller program,” said Steve Greenberg, president of Thin Client Computing. “Compared to other virtualization solutions, Virtuozzo is more efficient and cost effective in several ways. Virtuozzo requires less from the customer in terms of expensive infrastructure support and software licensing costs. Instead of emulating hardware, Virtuozzo virtualizes the operating system and therefore provides better overall performance while simplifying operating system and application software updates.”

Virtualization Efficiency and Manageability
With Virtuozzo operating system (OS)-level server virtualization technology, a single Linux or Windows OS instance can be dynamically partitioned into multiple, highly-efficient virtual environments. The low overhead of Virtuozzo allows for demanding workloads such as database and application servers to run inside virtual environments with near-native performance and scalability. The result is higher server consolidation ratios as compared with other virtualization technologies. Also, Virtuozzo is the first and only virtualization technology that addresses the challenge faced by today’s datacenters of operating systems sprawl where a number of different operating systems require support, maintenance and updating. Overall, Virtuozzo provides efficiency and manageability that result in lower total cost-of-ownership for customers.
