Kineo and IES Partner on Absence Management e-Learning
Research shows that effective management of absence can generate significant cost savings and improve organisational effectiveness and productivity. So why do most organisations fail to secure these benefits? The answer lies with improving line manager training and support. Kineo and the Institute for Employment Studies today announce their intention to provide that support through a major new e-learning initiative, starting with a survey of absence management training.
Brighon, UK (PRWEB) July 4, 2006 -- Sue Hayday, Research Fellow at IES, and author of several key reports on absence management said: “Generally management of absence rests in the hands of line managers, but research shows that days lost to absence are at their highest where line managers are responsible for delivering absence policy. The responsibility for dealing with absence is therefore being left to those that are least able to control it.
“IES is pleased to be working with Kineo to produce an e-learning toolkit to support line managers in effectively dealing with absence in the workplace. To aid them in their effective management of absence, managers need a tool that is directly relevant and can be called upon immediately for support when dealing with absence. Trying to recall the details of a course they attended some time ago cannot supply this.”
Kineo’s managing partner, Steve Rayson said: “IES is the ideal partner for Kineo, with their expertise in the area of absence management and focus on pragmatic solutions. Kineo’s expertise in creating pragmatic e-learning that truly supports people in the workplace will enable us to partner with IES to create a highly effective absence management solution for managers.”
To inform this development, Kineo and IES today launch a comprehensive survey examining attitudes and training in the area of absence management and invites HR professionals globally to participate. All participants in the survey will be provided with its results.
You can participate in the survey at the Kineo website.
