AP9 TodaysEscapes Helps Families Spend a More Enjoyable Time at Theme Parks

AP9 TodaysEscapes, by Adaptive Marketing LLC, offers members significant savings on travel arrangements, including theme park tickets, hotels, car rentals and more.

Norwalk, CONN (PRWEB) July 8, 2006 -- The #1 dream of many kids is sometimes less appealing to many parents: to visit a theme park. Sure, parents will enjoy the rides and the look of happiness on their kids’ faces, but they might also dread the long lines, the money spent and the weariness after a long day of carrying stuff -- and tired children -- around. To make the outing more fun for all concerned, AP9 Todays Escapes, a travel and entertainment discount membership program offered by Adaptive Marketing LLC, urges parents to plan ahead as much as they can and to learn to have fun just like when they were kids.

AP9 Todays Escapes offers instant savings on travel reservations and car rentals, along with discounts on hotel stays, family restaurants, theme park admission tickets and more. Members go to Dealpass.com to pick and choose from the travel-related items they need … and save!

AP9 TodaysEscapes offers some simple tips on how to make theme park trips wonderful excursions for everyone:

-- Plan ahead. Make sure you have comprehensive information about the park(s) you’re visiting, even if it’s not the first time you’re going. Learn about new rides or amenities they offer, as well as any height restrictions and health warnings for the rides. Get a map if possible, and involve your kids in the planning process. They’ll start enjoying the trip weeks before you take off!

-- Don’t follow the crowds. Do the opposite, and you’ll find shorter lines and fewer crowds around. Leave the attractions closer to the gate for later, and start with the ones in the back. Also, avoid the food courts between noon and two. Instead, have lunch earlier or later.

-- Bend the rules. It’s OK not to stick to every single aspect of the plan the family made. If you and the kids enjoy a ride so much that you want to take it again, even if the line is really long, just do it! The idea is for everyone to have a great time, not to go on every single ride just for the sake of it.

-- Be prepared. There’s no way to avoid carrying a backpack all day long while visiting a theme park, but you can make it a lighter one if you get the travel size of the items you need (sunscreen, allergy or motion sickness medicines, etc.). Distribute items like energy bars, other snacks and water among the oldest members of the family in small fanny packs, and shop for souvenirs and stuffed animals at the end of the day, so you don’t have to drag them along.

-- Break them in. Train your kids (and yourself) beforehand for the ultra-long walks at the parks. Start with shorter walks around the neighborhood several weeks before departure, and increase the intensity of the exercise as time goes by. Break in new shoes or sneakers you plan to take on the trip, to make sure they’re comfortable and supportive. Remember to bring at least two pairs of shoes for each member of the family, so you can alternate every other day. Your feet will thank you.

-- Listen to your kids. They helped plan the itinerary for a reason, so ask them what they liked the best every day and what other things they’d like to do now that you’re all there. Don’t force them to go on rides they are not ready for, even if their ages or height meet the park’s requirements.

Members can log on to DealPass for exclusive savings on travel arrangements as well as entertainment, meals, shopping and other benefits to maximize their vacation budgets during vacations or when spending quality family time -- all provided through AP9 Todays Escapes.
