Equal Access for All Students

(PRWEB) July 12, 2006 -- Virginia Polytechnic Institute has deployed Premier Assistive Technology’s Key to Access MSI Pack across their network to make over 20,000 workstations Key to Access accessible. Students will be able to take Premier’s Key to Access and use it on almost every student computer campus wide. For the first time, students can use their personal assistive technology where ever they go on campus.

“The Key to Access MSI enabled us to make every workstation accessible to the Key to Access technology. In the past, it was too difficult to predict where the AT was going to be needed, now it does not matter because students can take their technology with them,” said Christa Hixson, VT.

The Key to Access is designed to work with network security not override it. To use the Key to Access, you must first login as an administrator on the workstation where you want to use the Key. Then launch the Key, and log out. From that point on, anyone who has a Key to Access can use it with that computer. The workstation is now Key Accessible. This method is easy enough to do if you are only working with a few computers. Don’t try to attempt this with 20,000 workstations.

To solve this problem, Premier has developed the Key to Access MSI Pack. Network administrators can push out this MSI Pack to all the workstations on the network. This MSI Pack enables the workstation to accept the key so that within a few minutes a network administrator can make a lab key accessible through its network policies.

This MSI Pack is FREE and can be installed on as many workstations as necessary by an organization. The software license is embedded in the Key and nothing will run without the Key being inserted in the USB Port.
