Sun Star Corporation Compiles Disaster Recovery Prevention Team

In light of the sheer number of natural disasters over past 18 months and new questions about the safety of California’s electronic data stored in flood zones, Sun Star Corporation has put together a team of data recovery consultant to aid small and mid-sized businesses.

Inglewood, CA (PRWEB) July 14, 2006 -- In light of the sheer number of natural disasters over past 18 months and new questions about the safety of California’s electronic data stored in flood zones, Sun Star Corporation has put together a team of data recovery consultant to aid small and mid-sized businesses. The team will provide free telephone consultations to those concerned about their current data’s information backup strategies.

According to an article in eCommerce news, most people realize the value of their data, but still don’t backup their data. For businesses, this can result in a debilitating blow to profits or the company’s survival. “It’s not usually that they don’t want to backup, but that they don’t know how,” says information recovery consultant Gavin Rosenberg. “Our goal with the Disaster Recovery Prevention Team is to help people find the right option for their price range and their business model and teach them how to use it.”

With more aggressive viruses and high profile natural disaster coverage, more and more companies are seeking out data recovery tools rather than hoping there won’t be a problem. When there is, the average total cost for a company following an information loss is anywhere from $100,000 to 1,000,000 according to ICSA Lab's 7th Annual Virus Prevalence Survey.

Much of the data lost in any disaster can’t necessarily be replaced without a great deal of effort. Many times this includes critical customer files. In most cases companies attempt an expensive recovery and in the meantime, there is a great deal of company downtime. According to companies surveyed in the Cost of Downtime report, 40% of companies responded that their business would be in serious jeopardy after 72 hours of downtime.

“Another reason people put off implementing a back up system is that they believe they need a full time IT person or department,” says Gavin Rosenberg, “but there are plenty of ways to automate the process. Once the system is in place most people often wonder why they didn’t move earlier.”

Sun Star’s goal is to help reduce the number of information loss related disasters through education and innovation with its Disaster Recovery Prevention Team of specialists. Sun Star will continue to make these services available indefinitely until further notice. Businesses can contact the Disaster Recovery Prevention team at 800. 663. 5523.
