Local Web Designer Adds Free Website Marketing Class

Arnold Missouri web designer adds another free class to the Jefferson County Library schedule. This class on marketing your business website will be every month until Thanksgiving.

Arnold, MO (PRWEB) July 16, 2006 –- This fall learn how to maximize a website's potential and get more traffic – for free.

Local web designer Will Hanke will be teaching several classes August through November at the Arnold branch of the Jefferson County Library. His newest class will focus on the many residents of Jefferson County who have ‘dead websites’.

“A dead website is one that was built with great anticipation of big sales, but the passion waned as the world ignored it and no one bought anything. The ‘build it and they will come’ cliché doesn’t work online, but with a few tricks those dead websites can become productive,” Hanke said.

Estimates say that one in every seven US residents has at least one website. The Internet has provided many stay-at-home moms and working class people with a way to promote and monetize their hobbies. Most people, however, are clueless as to how to turn their website into a real revenue-generating machine.

The class, labeled “Marketing Your Business Website” will cover topics such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), online advertising tips and avenues, along with ways to increase your website traffic and offline marketing ideas.

Marketing Your Business Website is just one of the classes offered for free at the Jefferson County Library. Other classes being served up this fall include beginner classes on MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A new gadgets class will discuss digital cameras and thumb drives; while a class on safe Internet surfing will help residents keep their children safe online. Classes start August 3rd and run through Thanksgiving.

Will Hanke is owner of Arnold-based Lighthouse Technologies. The company provides businesses with website services including design, hosting and promotion.

For more information and to sign up for the classes, call the Jefferson County Library (Arnold Branch) at 636-296-5171.
