A Captivating Romance Novel and a Message of Restored Faith

A fictional tale by M. Randolph Mason, Shipwright tells the story of two broken people who learn to love and trust again

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) July 16, 2006 -- Set in the Chesapeake Bay, Shipwright by M. Randolph Mason is a fictional tale of patience, tolerance, commitment and faith - and ultimately, one of love.

The character-driven plot takes clinical pathologist Dr. Henry “Lee” Wythe, who was recently dumped by his beautiful socialite wife, and Annie Carson Lauler, an emotionally and physically devastated shipwright and naval architect, through an unlikely friendship that ends in commitment. After reading “I wish you were someone I loved. Goodbye,” on a simple Post-It note, Wythe moves into his sailboat which is in the local boatyard awaiting its turn to be modified. There he encounters the daughter and only child of the boatyard owner, living like a bag lady in a derelict sailboat to the dismay of her parents. Lee and Carson’s acrimonious meeting activates a tumultuous journey, full of challenges. Each of the characters poignantly – and often unwillingly – begins to rediscover life.

"...Shipwright casts a spell that will appeal to the romantic hearts and the lovers of the sea in all of us. Set against the rich tapestry of Chesapeake Bay, this is a truly memorable and uplifting book." NYT Best Selling Author, Ellen Tanner Marsh.

About the Author
M. Randolph Mason is a retired Army officer currently working as an engineering geophysicist for a research and development electronics firm. As the son-of-a-son-of-a-sailor - his father a navy sea captain - he grew up on and around the waters of Chesapeake Bay and maritime Florida. In his lifetime he has lived in twenty-two different locations, including five years in Europe, which has enabled him to be conversational in three languages. Of all his many avocations, which include watercolor painting and music, Mason is most enamored with sailing. His nautical passion is particularly evident in the beautifully descriptive story, Shipwright.
