Soap Stars Go Digital
New weekly internet radio show for soap fans. Interviews with the stars of British and Australian soaps such as Neighbours, Emmerdale, Bad Girls and Coronation Street.
England (PRWEB) July 16, 2006 -- The world’s first internet radio show devoted to British and Australian soaps is proving a hit with soap stars and fans alike.
The Soap Show (www.thesoapshow.com) features weekly interviews with the stars of soaps such as Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Neighbours, as well as classic soaps like Crossroads and Prisoner Cell Block H.
In just two months the show has attracted tens of thousands of listeners from around the world, as well as some big names from the world of soap.
As internet broadcasting is not limited by the time constraints of traditional television and radio formats, the show varies in length from week to week to fit the interviews, rather than the interviews having to fit the length of the show. Each programme is then available to listen to on demand for seven days.
Soap Show host Ian explains: “We give actors the space to talk about their careers and share the stories the fans want to hear. Each topic in the interview is separated into individually named audio files, so listeners can scan down our radio player list and either listen to the whole interview, or just the part of it that interests them.”
The show has created a buzz on fan sites and discussion forums, particularly with the recent announcement that listeners can now post questions on The Soap Show website to put to upcoming guests. “This means the show can be a much more interactive experience for both the listeners and the guests,” says Ian.
Guests lined up for The Soap Show for the rest of July include Blair McDonough (Stuart Parker, Neighbours) who is about to star in The Vegemite Tales in London’s West End, Gwyneth Guthrie who entertained fans for years with her portrayal of Mrs Mack in Take The High Road, and former Bad Girls and Emmerdale star Claire King, who will be discussing her recently published autobiography.
