After winning the vote by the Southlake Planning and Zoning committee by 7-0, Sport Ryder Rentals was defeated by the City Council after an emotional debate about the noise of motorcycles.

"Our bikes are stock and have had no modifications to make them loud and meet the same specifications as automobiles," said McMurray. "But there seems to be an emotional stigma to motorcycles that some people have."
