Corporate Magician Turner Wins Atlanta's 'Doty' Award for Stage Magic Excellence

Joe M. Turner, America's Corporate Magic Communicator and Atlanta's top corporate magician, was named the winner of the 2006 J.C. Doty Award for Excellence in Stage Magic. The annual competition, named for longtime Atlanta magician and magic inventor J.C. Doty, recognizes achievement in the performance of theatrical magic.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 20, 2006 -- Professional magician Joe M. Turner was named the winner of the 2006 J.C. Doty Award for Excellence in Stage Magic by the Atlanta chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. The annual competition, named for longtime Atlanta magician and magic inventor J.C. Doty, recognizes achievement in the performance of theatrical magic. The second annual competition was held on July 17.

In addition to many other local and regional awards, last year Turner also won the Doyne Michie Award for Excellence in Close-Up Magic, recognizing his achievement in the performance of intimate sleight-of-hand. He is the first magician to win both the "Michie" and the "Doty." Turner was voted Greater Atlanta Magician of the Year in 2000.

Turner is a popular speaker and entertainer at meetings, conferences and trade shows across the United States. His corporate background includes seven years of consulting in change management and human performance improvement. He is also an expert sleight-of-hand performer, starring in his own one-man show, "Shenanigans," at the Grand Hyatt in Atlanta's Buckhead district.
