The Independent Researcher that Discovered Caffeine Causes ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and More Knows the Truth Comes With a Price

Telling the truth often comes with a price. And for Ruth Whalen, a medical technologist, independent researcher and professional writer, the lady who discovered that caffeine causes ADHD and mental illness, the price is harassment and defamation of character.

(PRWEB) July 23, 2006 -- Update: Shortly after this press release was published, Amazon.com changed its review policy. A person cannot post review comments at Amazon.com unless he/she purchased an item from Amazon.com.

Arthur Schopenhaur stated, “All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” Ruth Whalen is familiar with the saying, as it was posted on her web page for nearly a year. But last month someone hacked into http://www.welcometothedancecaffeineallergy.com. It seems many persons would like to see Whalen’s book disappear also, which would prevent more people from learning the truth about mental illness and recovering from ADHD, mental illness, and numerous other physical conditions.

Once in a blue moon, a courageous, ethical person steps forward to teach the world something. Ruth Whalen, a brave, trustworthy researcher, medical professional and writer, with a flair for untangling the seemingly surreal, is educating the public about the dangers of caffeine, undereducated medical professionals and what they call mental illness. Miss Whalen wants the world to learn that mental illness is not genetic and not caused by society or bad parents. According to Miss Whalen's research, published in fine journals by upstanding doctors, mental illness results from an altered physical state that goes undetected by physicians; despite physiological changes indicated by abnormal laboratory test results, doctors erroneously diagnose physically ill patients with mental illness because many doctors lack adequate chemistry knowledge and cannot find the cause of physically-induced mental status changes.

Knowing what to look for, after recovering from caffeine-induced poisoning wrongly diagnosed as anything and everything by some of Boston’s best physicians, Miss Whalen, extremely allergic to caffeine but very knowledgeable in chemistry, researched. Intense and well referenced, Ruth's book, “Welcome to the Dance: Caffeine Allergy, A Masked Cerebral Allergy and Progressive Toxic Dementia,” (Trafford, ISBN: 1412050006) with the foreword written by A. Hoffer, M.D., Ph.D., FRCP (C), President, International Schizophrenia Foundation, discusses several causes of mental illness, the physical and mental symptoms caffeine causes, the biochemical imbalances caffeine causes, Miss Whalen's needless, horrific transcendental journey, what patients should look for medically when they are diagnosed with ADHD or a mental disorder, and much more. A caffeine allergic twin, a registered dietitian, wrote a chapter, discussing how her caffeine allergic twin was wrongly diagnosed with schizophrenia and institutionalized for over 40 years and how doctors tried convincing her she was mentally ill when she was physically ill. The book received fine reviews during Whalen’s interview with Tony K, host of Artistfirst.com, from Dr. Tracie O'Keefe DCH, published in Nexus New Times magazine, published in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine, and from other reputable sources.

Ethical, well-educated doctors published Whalen’s articles and praised the book, however, it seems the game is on to see the book vanish. One or more persons are attempting to defame the author by posting pigpen lies on Barnesandnoble.com and Amazon.com. For a few months, it seems “Welcome to the Dance: Caffeine Allergy” had more reviews posted on Amazon.com than books sold. Amazon’s staff cleaned up the book’s page--but libelous remarks continue to appear due to lack of monitoring the board. Good reviews and reviews rebutting inflammatory statements were removed but malicious lies remain, written by people hiding behind curtains, lacking the integrity to use their real names. And one guy leaves a bitter assessment of Whalen's research--but he never read her book and lacks Whalen's credentials, Attempting to resolve the issue, Miss Whalen emailed Amazon.com about six weeks ago. Hoping the matter can be straightened out, she awaits a response. In addition to attacking the author's character, research skills, writing skills, professional relationships and more, the libelous remarks indirectly target Dr. Hoffer, an intelligent doctor and researcher. The lies insinuate that Dr. Hoffer validated inferior work and improbable findings.

A mentally unstable person who contacted Ruth shortly after the book went to print may be responsible for the defamation, using book review boards and a menagerie of pen names to attack Miss Whalen personally, attempting to sabotage her work. The person tried using Miss Whalen as a puppet for personal gain, but realizing the person had ulterior motives, Miss Whalen severed contact. After the first review appeared on Amazon.com praising “Welcome to the Dance,” a string of libelous remarks posted under pen names appeared and continue to appear. But merely a handful of books had been sold when the first bad remarks appeared, and several buyers had emailed Whalen, thanking her for her endearing, professional work and the truth.

Miss Whalen does not expect all persons to like her book, an unconventional medical text that stings the medical, research, psychiatric, and pharmaceutical communities, but she does not appreciate lies, and she does not like discovering that her work has been posted on web sites without crediting her. But Whalen understands that caffeine acts like amphetamine, promoting lies, theft, violence, obsession, and other psychotic behavior, discussed in her book.

The first book about caffeine psychosis, caffeine allergy and mental illness, “Welcome to the Dance: Caffeine Allergy, A Masked Cerebral Allergy and Progressive Toxic Dementia,” can be purchased from many online stores, including Abebooks.com, Leviticus11.com, Amazon.com, and Trafford.com. For more information about caffeine psychosis, caffeine allergy and mental illness and to sample the author's writing, see http://www.welcometothedancecaffeineallergy.com , http://www.welcometothedancecaffeineallergy.com/rev.html , Whalen's articles in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine, the Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, Medical Veritas (the journal of Medical Truth), Positive Health Magazine, and at http://www.doctoryourself.com.

Miss Whalen is glad individuals are reading her work and recovering from ADHD and mental illness. The truth is prevailing.

Update: Several weeks after this press release was sent, Amazon.com changed its review policy. A person cannot review a book unless he/she purchased something from Amazon.com.
