Allison Edwards, entrepreneuer, chandler, devoted mother, and message board moderator is the woman behind the magic known to us Sweet Treatz.
In 2004, while working at a local YMCA, Edwards longed to work for herself. In search of a hobby that was to relieve the stresses of everyday life, Edwards began looking into candle making. After company reorganization at the YMCA, she was fortunate enough to have her ideas and notes on hand to begin her creation which is now known as Sweet Treatz. Bearing a catchy name with an even catchier slogan, “We cater to you so you can cater to yourself”, Sweet Treatz is the talk of the town.
"I just wanted to give to others some peace after working hard. We as women and providers for our families work very hard. We appreciate something as simple as lighting a candle for an hour and just relaxing" Edwards says.
Sweet Treatz is currently an online store that sells items such as candles (gel and soy), personalized gift baskets, bath and body items, flowers and incense. "I wanted to have a business where my children and their wives can one day take over when I'm old and gray," Edwards quips.
In time, with much hard work and success like other small businesses, Sweet Treatz will definitely be a force to reckon with.
