A 4XMOTION all-wheel drive system distributes power between the front and back axle depending on the driving situation - steep up-hill driving triggers Anti-squat Assistance which stops the tendency of the car to tip backwards, whereas during steep downhill driving Hill Descent Assistance uses braking intervention to keep the vehicle at constant speed.

Also water no longer presents a problem. Should your journey encounter those occasional road floods, or even more occasional showers, special air intakes, watertight lamps, and water-resistant door seals allow fording depths of 500 millimeters.
