MALIBAL(TM) Enhances Notebooks with New Hitachi(R) Travelstar(R) 160GB SATA HDDs

Industry’s First 160GB SATA 2.5” Hard Drives Boost Mobile Storage to New Highs.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) August 24, 2006 -- MALIBAL, LLC, a world leader in innovative laptop design and development, today announced the addition of the industry’s most advanced and reliable mobile hard drive, the Hitachi® Travelstar® 5K160 160GB 2.5” Serial ATA, as an option on its entire line of notebooks.

The Travelstar 5K160 is Hitachi’s first hard drive featuring perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology. By aligning magnetic markers perpendicular to a hard-disk surface, PMR not only delivers up to 5 times the storage density of traditional longitudinal recording but also increases overall performance. The 160GB storage capacity is equivalent to approximately 160 hours of standard video, 57 movies, 40,000 4-minute songs or 80 video games.

“As part of a continued effort to bring our customers the latest technologies and advancements in mobile computing, we are excited to be one of the first notebook manufacturers offering the 5K160 Serial ATA hard drives as an option on our entire line of notebooks,” said Matthew Plott, founder, MALIBAL. “With a myriad of industry-leading features and innovations, these new Travelstar hard drives are the hottest thing out there right now.”

Today’s announcement raises the available hard drive space on the Bodhi, Lotus and Veda Series up to 160GB per notebook. The Samadhi Series and Series #9, which feature dual hard drive bays, will now have an incredible 320GB of total HDD space. The Satori Series, with its modular bay, will also be able to hold up to 320GB; one 160GB HDD swaps out with the optical drive.

The Travelstar 5K160 SATA HDDs are available now through MALIBAL’s website. All notebooks come with a 1yr parts and labor warranty and 24-hour 365-day USA-Based phone support. Extended warranties are available.
