Debt Problems Can Be Solved, Say The Debt Counsellors

Debt help experts The Debt Counsellors say there are debt solutions for many of the debt problems faced by students and parents in the UK, and recommend that anyone worried about their finances gets professional advice.

(PRWEB) August 13, 2006 -- In response to the news that the majority of students and parents are unprepared for the amount of debt that awaits them, The Debt Counsellors are spreading the message that solutions exist for these debt problems, and that those suffering from them should take advantage of free, confidential debt counselling.

A survey by the Association of Investment Trust Companies (AITC) found that 55% of 16 to 19-year-olds and 45% of parents are worried about finances.

We recommend that any student, young person or parent concerned about their debt problem takes advantage of the free, confidential debt advice we offer.
However, many people are underestimating the level of debt that can be accrued, as the majority of parents expect their offspring to amass debts of around £7,080. In reality, the national average of money owed upon graduation is £13,500.

It is clear, then, that young people are facing debt problems that are more serious than both they and their parents expect – and this despite admitting that finances are a cause for concern.

However, The Debt Counsellors insist that debt solutions exist for all kinds of debt problems, including the most serious cases.

John Porter of The Debt Counsellors says: "Young people and parents are right to be concerned about finances as personal debt problems are rife in the UK. However, our job is to help people when their debts get out of control and thankfully there are many debt solutions for different situations.

"We recommend that any student, young person or parent concerned about their debt problem takes advantage of the free, confidential debt advice we offer."
