New York , NY (PRWEB) August 3, 2006
DesignMentor Training (http://www.designmentortraining.com/sketchup) has added SketchUp training with internationally acclaimed architect and 3D modeler, James Dodson heading the class. Dodson has extensive experience in using 3D modeling design tools. SketchUp, from Google, makes creating intuitive 3D models, sketches and professional-looking renderings as effortless as drawings on a napkin.
"As design boundaries stretch across mediums and functions we know we must keep adding classes that allow creative professionals to extend their reach," said DesignMentor Training CEO Doris Granatowski. "3D modeling has become important not only to architects and industrial designers but to the expanding world of game design." of 3D modeling as a design tool.
James Dodson is an architect in Norway at Snøhetta, the internationally acclaimed designers of the Alexandria Library in Egypt as well as the proposed Memorial Museum at the World Trade Center in NYC. Dodson has worked on a variety of built projects and prize-winning competitions at Snøhetta. A frequent lecturer, his 3D modeling work has been published in magazines in both Europe and the United States.
"A growing number of graduates from architecture and design schools are forsaking their traditional careers and concentrating their efforts on mapping the virtual world you see on the big screen," said James Dodson. "Game developers are seeking 3D motion capture specialists, character animators, and 3D level designers. The movie space and the game space are converging in their use of 3D graphics."
Google SketchUp classes at DesignMentor Training start upon enrollment and students are able to complete work at their own pace and on their own schedule. Additional information on Google SketchUp classes can be found at http://www.designmentortraining.com/sketchup.
James Dodson will be instructing a new Advanced SketchUp class for DesignMentor Training in the Fall of 2006.
