Columbine CD Producer Announces New CD Project Honoring Life of Columbine Victim

A new CD project has been launched by Columbine CD producer honoring the life and legacy of Rachel Joy Scott, the student who gained much notoriety from her death in the tragedy at Columbine High School.

Littleton, CO (PRWEB) August 5, 2006 -- Michael Tamburello, who produced the Lullaby for Columbine CD that released nationally in 2000 and helped launch the career of Christian artist, Rachael Lampa, was deeply inspired by the life and faith of Rachel Scott and wanted to create the first musical tribute of its kind honoring her life.

The CD will include fully orchestrated original music arranged by Tamburello and feature songs written by Bethanee McCandless, Rachel’s sister, who taught her how to play, often times dueting together at the piano. The album will also include music by McCandless’ husband, Don, and her mother, Beth Nimmo, both accomplished musicians, and will feature a host of other writers and artists to be announced later.

“There is no one else I would want to work with on this project,” says McCandless. “Michael cares not only for Rachel and my family, but he cares for the Columbine community. His previous success speaks to his ability to arrange and produce and his attention to quality and detail is second to none -- the final product stays true to the heart of the project.”

Also creative director for the website racheljoyscott.com, founded by Rachel’s mother, Beth Nimmo, Tamburello wanted to add another dimension to the lineup of books and videos connected to Rachel that continue to emerge and have become quite popular among Christian and secular audiences alike. The most celebrated book, Rachel’s Tears, now published in three languages, continues to be an inspirational best-seller.

“Our goal is to do a sort of musical companion to the book as a concept album in a contemplative/cinematic-style,” says Tamburello, who will record much of the project at his studio in Highlands Ranch. “Rachel’s drawings, journals and incredible life story have touched the lives of millions from around the world and music had a special place in her life as well. Our goal is to bring together the best creative elements and weave them into a timeless expression that honors this very special young woman.”

The CD is planned for release on the tenth anniversary of the Columbine tragedy. Advanced sales of the CD will be available at a discount on their website in early 2007 and will also include a free bonus CD.
