Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) August 9, 2006

New Line Media Solutions is pleased to announce the selection of Trefethen Vineyards, of Napa, CA, for a segment on “Premium Wine Destinations“ on its national television series “Pulse on America.” This segment will air nationally on the Travel Channel and regionally on CNN Headline News in top markets nationwide.

Through a visit to Trefethen Vineyards, viewers will have an amazing wine experience. They’ll discover the beauty of Napa Valley, one of the most naturally idyllic spots on earth that’s home to world-class restaurants, spas, shopping, and of course, great wine!

Widely acknowledged as one of Napa Valley’s most highly regarded wineries, Trefethen Vineyards has had its Chardonnay named best in the world and its Cabernet Sauvignon honored as the best in America by leading competitions. This family-owned winery is also known for being the Valley’s oldest fully estate-grown winery. Its focus on sustainable agriculture and ability to control the entire grape-growing process has enabled Trefethen to produce sophisticated yet approachable wines of consistently high quality and character for 33 vintages.

The winery is a leading pioneer in the Oak Knoll District, one of Napa Valley’s newest sub-appellations that is considered by many to be the valley’s “sweet spot” for its diverse soils and ability to consistently ripen a wide range of grape varieties to perfection. Trefethen excels at Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Riesling, all grown on the winery’s 500 acres. Though the wines change each year to reflect their vintage, the house style is one of elegance and harmony balanced with concentration and varietal character. Trefethen Vineyards is also home to the Napa Valley’s oldest cooking school (The Napa Valley Cooking Class at Trefethen Vineyards), and as such the wines are always ideal partners with food.

The first Trefethen vintage was produced in 1973 by John and Janet Trefethen, though the property has a long and distinguished history. The original winery was built in 1886 and is one of Napa Valley’s only existing three-story, wooden, gravity-flow wineries – so historically distinctive and significant that the building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Eugene Trefethen purchased the ranch in 1968, when there were fewer than 25 wineries in the entire Napa Valley. John joined his father in replanting vines, and today John and Janet Trefethen continue to produce authentic wines of exceptional character that are classic yet contemporary.

Wine lovers and those who desire to learn more about wines can visit the winery for tasting or call ahead to plan a tour, both daily except on holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visitors will immerse themselves in the beauty of wine country and its magnificent gardens and landscapes, learn how the winemaking process has evolved since the winery’s 19th century beginnings, and enjoy a distinctive tasting experience in the Trefethen Wine Library.

Trefethen not only features world-class wines, but also gives back to the community through raising funds for charity, offering youth scholarships, and opening the doors of the Trefethen Family Viticultural Center for at-risk youth. In its wines and in its community, Trefethen truly exemplifies the heart of the Napa Valley. For more information, see http://www.trefethen.com/
