Book by Israeli Author Potential Prophecy -- Did Novel Foretell Events Unfolding in the Middle East?

"The Odyssey Gene," a novel by award-winning author Dr. Kfir Luzzatto “eerily mirrors the current situation between Israel and Lebanon”. Was this novel, released by Echelon Press Publishing in July of 2006, a prophecy of things to come?

Omer, Israel (PRWEB) August 13, 2006 -- Dr. Hsien Hsien Lei, writer for Genetics & Health and editor for the Science and Health Channel, along with several other reviewers, has suggested that "The Odyssey Gene," a novel by award-winning author Dr. Kfir Luzzatto “eerily mirrors the current situation between Israel and Lebanon”. Was this novel, released by Echelon Press Publishing in July of 2006, a prophecy of things to come?

Many believe so…

Brian Vuyk of The Science Fiction Review commented that "The Odyssey Gene" is “…a story that keeps the reader thinking."

Rosalind Jackson of Warpcore SF stated that “It's easy to see this story as an allegory of the Arab-Israeli conflict.”

"The Odyssey Gene" is a futuristic look at a population segregated into those who have or don’t have a specific variant of the Davies Gene, which grants immunity to a fatal infectious disease - "Positives", who are treated as second class citizens, and "Negatives" who are the majority of the population.

The story is told through the eyes of John, a "positive" who decides to leave Earth for New Australia where the Andanian colony is rumored to be a haven for Positives. Upon arrival, John is drafted into the Andanian army where he finds brutality and atrocities everywhere as the New Australian “Newists” fight to keep their superior position of being first using abuse to keep the newcomers Andanians down; while Andanians leadership engages in futile and short-sighted political exercises.

As the crisis continues to unfold in the Middle East, Dr. Luzzatto predicts that the world will make the same mistakes; forgetting Winston Churchill's teaching that "those who feed the alligator to appease it will be eaten last".

In the book, Andania voluntarily gives up its military shield in return for empty promises of peace, with disastrous results. In the real world, Israel unilaterally withdrew from South Lebanon in 2000, leaving the ground to the terrorist organization Hezbollah, and allowing it to build a strength of 14,000 missiles directed toward Israel.

"You cannot appease terror by giving in to it," says Dr. Luzzatto. "If you run away from terror, it comes after you. In the book, everyone except the political leaders see it - as it happened in Israel and is happening in some European countries."
