Opportunity to See Free Film and Fireworks Series at Carolina Beach Ends September 3

Popular series of free movies and fireworks have been an overwhelming success.

Carolina Beach, NC (PRWEB) August 13, 2006 -- The popular “Film and Fireworks Series” in Carolina Beach, N.C., is coming to a close. The family-friendly movies are being held at Carolina Beach Lake Park every Sunday and a fireworks display occurs on the beach near the boardwalk each Thursday. The final fireworks display will occur on Thursday, August 30, and the final movie will be shown on Sunday, September 3, weather permitting. Both events are free and concessions will be available.

“We anticipated that the Film and Fireworks Series would be popular, but we have been delighted at how many families have participated in these events so far,” said Duke Hagestrom, coordinator of the Film and Fireworks Series. “With summer coming to a close, this will be the last opportunity for families to take a summer vacation together before the kids have to head back to school. We still have some fantastic movies lined up during this final month, such as, Over the Hedge and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so we encourage families to come out and enjoy this time together.”

Additional information and a complete movie schedule is available at www.CarolinaBeachWeekend.com or by contacting the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce at 910-458-8434.
