LocalWineEvents.com Expands Event Category
For those who enjoy good food and wine, there is only one place on the internet that will tell visitors about exciting food and wine events not only in their own city, but across the world.
(PRWEB) August 13, 2006 -- Local Wine Events.com is the brainchild of former wine rep, Eric Orange, who saw the need for a service that would be a one-stop shop for culinarians across the globe.
Local Wine Events.com, the world's largest food and wine events calendar, recently announced a new, easy to use feature: EVENT categories.
Visitors to www.LocalWineEvents.com can now tell at a glance whether an event is food, wine, spirits or beer related. There is also "combo" category for food/wine events and "other" for events such as a coffee or tea tastings.
Subscribers to The Juice, the weekly email newsletter of events now reaching over 50,000 members, will be able to filter the events in thenewsletter by desired categories.
"The site has really picked up steam", says founder and developer Eric V. Orange, a wine industry veteran who started the site nearly six years ago. "We are now getting a very diverse range of postings from all over the world all related to food, wine, spirits and beer."
That has always been the intent of LocalWineEvents.com, but some members are only interested in one or two categories of events. "They now have the option of choosing which category or categories the wish to receive in The Juice. This is also a good option for users of the site to be able make their posts more specific," says
Orange.
Local Wine Events.com is the ideal way for restaurants to promote their events, tastings and wine dinners.
There is no cost to restauranteurs for using the service and there is no cost to personal users, making www.localwinevents.com the ideal solution for finding out about events all over the world.
"We have two wine dinners each month, says Susan Maddox, who owns Le Titi De Paris with her husband and Chef, Michael Maddox."We are amazed at how many new people read about our wine dinners and attend because they read about it online."
"I have always used the service says Emlyn Thomas, Former Manager of several restaurants owned by Cafe Concepts, Inc. "It's easy to use for my own personal knowledge and as a restaurant manager, and it brings in a great deal of extra business for special events and it reaches people we don't know."
Founder Eric Orange says that is why he started local wine events.com, because of the lack of attandence at wine dinners when he worked as a wine rep. "Times have changed and I like to think my company had a small hand in that. Wine dinners are usually costly to put on so you want to have people there to enjoy them. They are educational and people can not only learn something but have fun sampling some great wines as well.
Local Wine Events.com is not only used by restaurants, but by food and wine festivals all over the world and because of a ever-growing worldwide interest in food and wine, the listings continue to grow on the site.
"I am pleased with the results," says Orange. "I get a lot of positive feedback and that is what it's all about."
