Quality New Mexico in Albuquerque Picked to Host One of the 2006 Baldrige Regional Conferences

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) August 16, 2006 -- The Baldrige National Quality Program, based at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, based in Washington, D.C., announces Quality New Mexico as the host of the western 2006 Baldrige Regional Conference and Pre-Conference workshop October 4 and 5th at the Hotel Albuquerque Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Conference will welcome speakers and workshop presentations from 2005 Malcolm Baldrige Award recipients: Sunny Fresh Foods, Inc. (manufacturing); DynMcDermott Petroleum Operations (service); Park Place Lexus (small business); Jenks Public Schools (education); Richland College (education); and Bronson Methodist Hospital (health care). In addition, the Conference will feature former Baldrige Award recipients.
The Baldrige Regional provides an in-depth opportunity to learn the ‘best practices’ and results of organizations using the seven categories of the Criteria for Performance Excellence (available on-line at http://www.qualitynewmexico.org). Whether an organization is small or large business, education, government, health care, manufacturing, non-profit, or service, participants can benefit from the knowledge and experience of the Baldrige Award recipients.
A Pre-Conference workshop (limit 60 participants) is open October 4th. This optional workshop is designed to familiarize people new to Baldrige with the Program and the Criteria to maximize their learning at the Conference. The Workshop is not a prerequisite to attend the Conference and is available with or without a Regional Conference registration.
New Mexicans may recall 12 Quality New Mexico Conferences held throughout the state presenting education on the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. On July 6th, 2006, Quality New Mexico celebrated 13 years of education, motivation, and congratulations to New Mexico organizations.
Quality New Mexico is the administrator of the New Mexico Quality Awards program, modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The program assesses and recognizes small and large business, education, government, health care and non-profit organizations at three levels: Zia Award for Performance Excellence, Roadrunner Recognition for significant progress in quality, and Piñon Recognition, which represents a commitment to quality concepts and principles.
The Pre-Conference Workshop fees are $100 with Conference Registration or $150 Workshop Only.
Conference registration fees - Advance by September 14 - $445 and Regular - $495.
