Choosing a Cosmetic Dentist

Know what to look for when choosing your cosmetic dentist. Follow these basic guidelines and you’re sure to enjoy your cosmetic dentistry experience.

(PRWEB) August 17, 2006 -- Choosing a cosmetic dentist can be difficult. No matter where a patient may live, there are probably multiple cosmetic dentists that all claim that they provide the best results possible. Choosing the right cosmetic dentist is an important factor in the quality of the cosmetic dentistry experience.

“One of the best ways patients can meet and evaluate a potential cosmetic dentist,” says Dr. Jorge Paez in Las Vegas, Nevada “is to schedule an initial consultation with the dentist to speak with them about their education, experience, affiliations, and to view their practice and before and after photos.”

Some of the things a patient should look for in a potential cosmetic dentist during their initial consultation include:
§   Experience – Make sure the cosmetic dentist has plenty of experience. By practicing cosmetic dentistry for years, the cosmetic dentist will have more experience dealing with possible emergencies, correcting any problems, and providing patients with the results they are looking for.
§   Before and Afters – Always review the before and after photos of any potential cosmetic dentist. The before and after photos provide the patient with a way to review and evaluate the quality of work the cosmetic dentist provides.
§   Communication – The relationship a patient develops with their cosmetic dentist should be based on open communication about all aspects of the procedure the patient would like to receive. The patient should have a complete understanding of what the procedure will entail, if there are any risks or complication, and what results they can expect.
§   Additional Training – Cosmetic dentistry is a field that is constantly changing. The top cosmetic dentists continue their education by taking courses on the most cutting edge technology and techniques from the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI).
§   References – An experienced cosmetic dentist will provide contact information of satisfied patients that can attest to the quality of cosmetic surgery they received.
§   Professional Affiliations – Make sure the cosmetic dentist is affiliated with various dental organizations. Membership in may organizations requires excellent cosmetic dentistry practices.

If you are considering a cosmetic dentistry procedure or treatment, but are unsure of which cosmetic dentist is right for you, contact a cosmetic dentist near you to schedule an initial consultation.

For more information, or to schedule a consultation, feel free to contact cosmetic dentist Dr. Paez of Las Vegas, Nevada.
