Samson Hair Restoration Announces Pyllo Anesthesia System - Far Less Pain in Hair Transplantation

Samson Hair Restoration developed a new system of anesthesia that results in far less pain during hair transplantation. Tests with patients had no patients rating the pain higher than a 2 on a 1 - 10 scale with 10 being the most painful.

Los Angeles, CA. (PRWEB) August 18, 2006 -- Samson Hair Restoration announced today the development of its Pyllo Anesthesia System, a proprietary anesthesia system that dramatically reduces the pain and discomfort of hair transplant surgery. In research about patient attitudes toward hair transplant procedures, the company recognized that pain was the single greatest reason people did not return for a second procedure. Samson personnel developed their Pyllo Anesthesia System in conjunction with leading anesthesiologists to address this concern.

"At Samson, we're very attentive to patients' concerns and frankly, pain is a huge concern, almost as much of a concern as the naturalness of the final result. We put a lot of focus on eliminating or minimizing the pain of these procedures and we're tremendously gratified with the system we've developed," commented Dr. Kenneth Anderson, Chief of Surgery for Samson. "In fact, using our Pyllo Anesthesia System, we asked patients to rate the pain of the procedure on a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being worst. To date, no patient has rated the pain higher than a 2," Dr. Anderson continued.

The Pyllo Anesthesia System is a type of local anesthesia utilizing dermaphoretic induction rather than simply anesthesia injections with a needle. No general anesthesia is used. The insight was a collaboration between Samson and leading anesthesiologists. "We knew these procedures could be made to be more comfortable without taking the risk of using systemic sedation or general anesthesia. So, we went to the experts and asked for their help. Together they, and Dr. Anderson, developed this system. I don't know of any other hair transplant practice that utilizes anything like this, but our clients are thrilled," explained William McCullough, President of Samson Hair Restoration.
