RateItAll.com Introduces Revenue Sharing for Consumer Reviews
Online social network RateItAll.com extends its AdSense powered revenue sharing program to include the submission of reviews.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 21, 2006 -- Online social network and review community RateItAll.com today announced that it was sharing revenue on all reviews posted to its site, effective immediately.
Revenue sharing with RateItAll’s members is executed via the Google AdSense API through a program called The RateItAll Economy. By checking a box during registration or on their profile page, members of RateItAll trigger the insertion of a Google AdSense Publisher ID into the pages that house their reviews, resulting in a 50/50 revenue share.
“Writing reviews is the heart and soul of RateItAll,” said RateItAll CEO Lawrence Coburn. “We’re thrilled to be able to extend our revenue sharing program to include this key activity.”
Prior to this announcement, RateItAll was already sharing revenue for the following activities:
- Creating a profile with a photo (100% of Google ad rotations)
- Publishing an interactive ratings list (50% of Google ad rotations)
- Adding a new listing to an existing ratings list (50% of Google ad rotations)
- Referring friends (10% of Google Ad rotations on their friends’ contributions)
“With this announcement, we hope to put some pressure on the big boys,” said Coburn. “Sites like MySpace, YouTube, and Amazon don’t share a dime with the folks who contribute content. We think they should.”
Members of RateItAll.com retain ownership of the reviews they post to the site, and are free to leave the community at any time, deleting their content permanently should they so choose.
