ACOM Healthcare Business Division Launches iDMX, Automated Findings and Observations Reporting System for DMX Users, at FCA Convention

Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX) represents a new way for doctors to identify spinal injuries and conditions that may be hard to spot on still images, even for radiologists. ACOM's Healthcare Business Division has partnered with DMX inventor DMX Works, Inc.to create an interactive software tool for interpreting the DMX images and preparing the associated reports.

St Petersburg, Florida (PRWEB) August 25, 2006 -- The Healthcare Business Division of ACOM Solutions, Inc. today introduced iDMX, a powerful, automated Findings and Observations report generator for users of DMX Works digital motion x-ray (DMX) systems that enables doctors to create comprehensive and precise reports quickly and automatically right in the office rather than having their DMX images read and interpreted by radiology consultants, it was announced today by Gregory T. Church, vice president and general manager of the division. iDMX is being demonstrated at the 2006 Convention of the Florida Chiropractic Association.

A hardware-software solution, iDMX was created under a development and referral partnership with DMX Works, Inc. the Palm Harbor, Florida company that invented the digital motion x-ray system.

This is a remarkable advance for the chiropractic community
Digital motion x-ray enables doctors to perform highly detailed x-ray examinations by sequentially imaging injured areas at 30 frames-per-second while patients perform natural movements. The process can reveal soft-tissue injuries that often are undetectable in still x-ray images, leading to more comprehensive courses of treatment for patients and more favorable reimbursement results for the physician.

“This is a remarkable advance for the chiropractic community,” Church said. “iDMX leads to faster and more reliable diagnoses, better and fuller courses of treatment, and a more dependable income stream with fewer denied or contested claims. With iDMX in support, doctors generate their DMX results quickly and conveniently, and at lower cost. The end result is a more efficient, cost effective, professional, profitable practice.”

iDMX is comprised of a Microsoft Windows-based tablet PC and specialized on-board software that displays and coordinates DVD resident images captured by the DMX system with a four-page electronic check-list side-by-side on the computer screen. The checklist walks the doctor through the sequence of images and tells him/her what to look for. Each check-box has standardized text associated with it and on completion of the image review, iDMX automatically generates the Findings and Observations report.

Key features and benefits include

-Direct capture of DMX studies from the tablet PC

-Fast, convenient in-house DMX narrative reports

-Tools for documenting every projection for cervical,    lumbar, upper and lower extremities, and TMJ

-Automatically created impressions based on standardized findings text selected by the physician

-Visual and textual explanations automatically inserted in the narrative report

-Sophisticated filing system that keeps documents
organized in a completely paperless environment

-Ability to enter handwritten annotations on the x-ray image via direct input on the computer screen.

“iDMX is a major value enhancement for users of Digital Motion X-ray systems,” Dr. Postlethwaite said. “By standardizing the findings text and automating its inclusion in the report, it eliminates the possibility that an analyst trained only in reading still images will miss anomalies that he/she is not used to seeing. And not only does it generate more reliable reports more quickly, it reserves full control over the report process for the doctor who must send the report to insurance companies, attorneys and other interested parties. We plan to recommend iDMX enthusiastically to our system users.”

DMX users can obtain iDMX by either contacting the Healthcare Business Division directly (866-286-5315) or through referral from DMX Works. ACOM representatives will provide interested DMX system users with a comprehensive product briefing, including an opportunity to participate in a live demo of the product. A preview is also available as a Flash demo at the Healthcare Business Division website (www.acomemr.com or www.rapidchiro.com). Pricing begins at $7,999.00.

About DMX Works, Inc.
