NBLR to Host "When Black Folks Vote" Forum during CBC Legislative Weekend
National Black Leadership Roundtable will host a forum on the Black Vote as part of its Voter Registration-Voter Education Get Out the Vote Drive. It takes place during the Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Weekend on Sept. 9, 2006 in Washington, D.C.. The event will be taped for airing on TV and the Internet. It is free to the public.
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) August 26, 2006 -- The National Black Leadership Roundtable is hosting a forum entitled, When Black Folks Vote, Saturday, September 9, 2006, Washington Convention Center, Room 144BC from 11:00AM - 2:30 pm. The forum which is taking place during the Annual Congressional Back Caucus Legislative Weekend will be taped and edited into a series Television shows for airing on Television and the Internet. Topics include: (1) When We Voted - The History of the Black Vote; (2) Global Affect of the Black American Vote...and we have made a difference internationally; (3) Power of the Black Vote in the 21st Century! and (4) Mobilizing to Mobilize! - Getting Voters to the Polls.
“When Black Folks Vote,” is a part of a Non-Partisan, Voter Education-Voter Registration, Get-Out-The Vote Campaign designed to identity, register and mobilize 5 million new African-American Voters who are have been identified as eligible to vote, but not registered. The Honorable Walter E. Fauntroy, a former member of Congress is President of the organization.
