(PRWEB) August 25, 2006 -- The Rev. Alan A. Rowbotham, a Unity minister who led the first Unity group into China, will lead the Unity Tour of India, a 13-day "Transformational Journey of the Soul," April 10-22, 2007.
Rev. Rowbotham took 62 people on the first Unity church tour of China, visiting many of that country's most sacred and historic sites in 1999.
Like the tour of China, the journey next year through northern India will include visits to more than a dozen holy sites, including Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; a magnificent Bahai temple; a Sikh ashram in Beas with a living master in residence and the largest mystical/spiritual library in the world; the Golden Temple, considered the most sacred place of the Sikh religion, in Amristsar; and the temples in Rishikesh, gateway to the Himalayas.
The itinerary also includes visits to the Ganges River; the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort in Agra; India Gate; Apollo Hospital (recently featured on "60 Minutes") and other traditional tourist destinations in New Delhi and surrounding cities.
Tour participants will have an opportunity to ride an elephant, for example; to visit a traditional Indian village fair; and to take a rickshaw ride through the streets of Old Delhi.
The $2,695 tour fee covers roundtrip airfare from the United States to India; luxury hotels; two meals daily; and escorts and guides for the entire journey.
A native of England and naturalized United States citizen, Rev. Rowbotham is an experienced international traveler as well as a seasoned spiritual guide. He has led Unity groups on land tours of England and cruises through the Caribbean and has traveled extensively in Europe, Asia and the South Pacific.
A Unity minister for nearly 35 years, Rev. Rowbotham co-founded Unity of Roanoke Valley with his wife and fellow Unity minister, the Rev. Kathryn Rowbotham. He is a former president of the International Association of Unity Churches and former senior minister of First Unity Church in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Headquartered at Unity Village, Missouri, the worldwide Unity Movement includes more than 900 member ministries; Silent Unity, a 24-hour telephone prayer ministry; and the Daily Word, a monthly devotional magazine with more than a million readers. Known as "the church of practical Christianity," Unity honors the validity of all of the world's religions.
