How to Get a Great Job Through a Career Fair
A career Fair like the Inland Empire Diversity Career and Job Fair allows you to meet and introduce yourself to dozens of employers all in one place. The Diversity Job Fair will be in San Bernardino on September 6 and Palm Desert on September 20.
San Bernardino, CA (PRWEB) August 27, 2006 -- Imagine being able to interview for a dozen jobs in one day.
If you’re looking for a job, you know that job interviews are sometimes hard to come by. Even if you’re lucky enough to land several in one day, trying to figure out a way to get to each one of them on time can be tricky,
With a career fair, you have the possibility of interviewing with a dozen or more employers all in one day and all in one place.
“There are many employers here in the Inland Empire who need people to come to work for them said Dolores Armstead vice president of the Inland Empire African-American Chamber of Commerce. “But just as people looking for work don’t always know where to look, people looking for workers don’t always know where to find them either. Job Fairs bring them together.”
A career fair, the Inland Empire Diversity Career and Job Fair is coming to San Bernardino on September 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Bernardino Airport Galaxy Center, 1554 Art Townsend Drive.
The Inland Empire Diversity Job and Career Fair is unique in several respects from many others.
First, while this career fair is open to everyone who wants a great job somewhere close to them, it is marketed as a “Diversity Job Fair.” This means all the participating employers are committed to hiring people from all races and ethnicities.
“Every employer should be committed to hiring a work force that reflects the general population,” Armstead said. “Unfortunately, some employers don’t know how to recruit minorities.”
Second, since the Diversity Job Fair is organized in the Inland Empire, the companies that come do business in the area, and want employees who live in the area. In fact, these career fairs are held in four distinct areas of the Inland Empire: San Bernardino Valley, western Riverside County, the High Desert of San Bernardino County and the Coachella Valley of Riverside County. The employers at each location are usually looking for jobs in that same specific area.
The Inland Empire Diversity Career and Job Fair is sponsored by The Inland Empire and Palm Springs African American Chambers of Commerce, along with the National American Unity Association, 909Models.com, Hispanic Connect, publications including Black Voice News, Precinct Reporter, WestSide Story and El Chicano plus Dameron Communications.
