Dating Service It’s Just Lunch Announces Simplified Wireless Dating Etiquette for Singles

It’s Just Lunch!®, the premier international dating service for busy professionals, wants to clear up any confusion about dating etiquette and wireless technology such as cell phones and Blackberries. 46% of singles feel that while having a cell phone is a necessity, answering it while on a date is a major turn-off.

(PRWEB) August 27, 2006 -- According to statistics at It’s Just Lunch, 46% of singles say their biggest pet peeve is when their date answers their cell phone during a meal.

While text messaging and emailing has become more of the norm when it comes to communicating with others, it is still not the best way to ask someone out on a date; it’s too impersonal especially for a first date. 80% of singles say they will set up the initial first date by phone when they are fixed up by friends, but 11% of singles admit to asking their date out by sending a text message.

"It’s hard for people to leave work at work, especially in today’s world where there are wireless devices like cell phones and Blackberries that keep people connected at all times," said Andrea McGinty, founder of It’s Just Lunch. "But when you’re on a date, especially the first or second one, it’s important to keep all your attention focused on your date."

When it comes to deciding if you’re interested in a second date, 27% of single men and 39% of single women would rather send an email telling their date they don’t want to see them again because they don’t have to see the rejection on their date’s face.

Top 5 Blackberry Dating Don’ts

1. Don’t answer your Blackberry on a date.
2. Don’t ask out your date via your Blackberry.
3. Don’t flip through emails on your Blackberry while your date is in the restroom.
4. Don’t wear your Blackberry on a hip-clip.
5. Don’t show your date your new accessory or features on your Blackberry.
