Pop/Rock Star Heather Schmid Becomes the First Ever American to Perform for the Miss Tourism World Pageant in Pingxing, China
Pop/Rock Singer Heather Schmid was again breaking boundaries to become the first ever American Artist to perform in the city of PingXing, China for the Miss Tourism World Pageant, sponsored by the majestic Wugong Mountains.
(PRWEB) August 27, 2006 -- Heather Schmid is in search of an adventure. 'The Goddess Within', her latest album, is taking Heather all over the world. This pop/rock artist performed for the Miss Tourism World Pageant in the city of Pingxing at the base of the majestic Wugong Mountains in China. Pingxing had never seen an American Pop Star, and were awestruck by the dynamic stage performance by Ms. Schmid.
The usually well-covered event, turned into a media frenzy with photographers and reporters following Heather everywhere, even to the top of Wugong Mountain. There in front of the most majestic backdrop, this blonde beauty gave interviews and posed for photographers from every major local and national publications. CCTV, Chinese national television, covered both Heather's live performances and the trek to the top of the mountain.
The stage show drew a clearly audible gasp of awe from the audience as Heather appeared at the very top of the stairs that compromised the back of the stage. 'My Time' and 'What U Been Missin' proved good song choices for the cheering crowd. Even the event videographer had to admit he did not get an accurate video of the performance because he was could not take his eyes off Heather, and back to the viewfinder.
At the closing dinner, local media and CCTV interviewed the 40 pageant participants from all around china. Many admitted the most exciting part of the competition was watching Heather perform and receiving her new CD and poster.
'I had an amazing time', A lot of fun! It was great to be back in the pageant atmosphere!' Heather admitted to CCTV television. When asked about her album, Heather had this to say: 'The Goddess Within' is part of a concept', 'The strong music, lyrics and live show are important elements, but, the message of global community and charity are essentially the brand identity of 'The Goddess Within'.' 'I can't wait to see all of China through this album.'
The music itself was co-produced in Los Angeles by Rich Balmer, the 5 time Grammy nominated producer. Stylistically it has been compared to Sheryl Crow, Ashlee Simpson and Kelly Clarkson. The band of 4 all reside in LA, are all Berklee grads, and were chosen because they have all toured with top 10 pop artists.
Heather has performed on some of the biggest stages throughout the world. Most recently China, Las Vegas, New York City, pre-Grammy show, on television in the US and through out the world, a special performances for president of Pakistan, to now traveling internationally for her new album 'The Goddess Within'.
Heather hosted a television show on the WB called 'The Industry'. She was represented by Lizzie Grubman PR and featured on MTV's PowerGirls. Heather was Miss Millennium 2002, during which she performed extensively in Las Vegas and through a 30 state US tour selling 30,000 CD's. Heather has been a spokesmodel for many fortune 500 companies.
Heather is in search of an adventure through her music. But what she doesn't realize is that SHE is the adventure.
