Green Bay, WI (PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity feature Rosanna Fiorazo’s new single “I’m Free” as September’s “Song of the Month” at their ‘Franciscanized World’ page: www.fscc-calledtobe.org/living.asp
The Christian singer songwriter was inspired to write “I’m Free” after performing a concert in California. “The passion to live freely in Christ grew deeper and deeper in my soul, and then the story of how the apostle Paul had come to know Jesus on the road to Damascus came to mind” reflected Fiorazo. “At that moment the words and melody began to flow. I too, deep in my heart wanted to be truly 'free'.”
Inspired by artists as diverse as Rickie Lee Jones and Sara Groves, Rosanna’s new cd “Haven’t You Heard?” is due in September. She’s supported by band members from Faith Hill & Brooks and Dunn, giving Rosanna’s original contemporary songs a guitar-based feel and a slight country flavor, yet remaining consistent with the grace-filled lyrics her music is known for.
“Franciscanized World” invites visitors see the world as Saints Francis and Clare did - realistically, compassionately, finding good and holy possibility in the substance and culture of everyday life.
Each month, specially selected songs and images are chosen for spiritual reflection from particular young women discerning their call in life.
"We’ve talked with our current and prospective candidates in their 20’s, wanting to learn the best way to reach young women interested in knowing more about us, and possibly joining us,” Sr. Julie Ann Sheahan, OSF, Directress of Vocations said. “We want to present our life as a viable option for them. Personal invitation is always best; however, we became convinced that real conversations can begin by using the language of images and music.”
Established in 1869, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity serve in Catholic health care, education and parish ministries in 11 U.S. dioceses (Green Bay, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Tucson, Honolulu, Chicago, Marquette, Jackson, Omaha, Columbus and Steubenville).
