BingoHelps.com Brings Charity Bingo to the Internet to Reclaim a Valuable Fundraising Tool

With more and more bingo players abandoning ‘real world’ bingo halls to play bingo on the Internet, an important fundraising tool is in danger of being lost. www.BingoHelps.com aims to remedy this by funneling a percentage of online bingo revenues to support charitable causes.

(PRWEB) September 17, 2006 -- Charitable organizations have been using bingo games to successfully raise funds for decades. These days it seems that churches and schools are loosing out to online gaming companies as attendance in ‘real world’ bingo is declining while online bingo is growing rapidly in popularity. Public smoking bans are compounding this trend and sending even more bingo players to their computers and away from the halls.

With revenues said to be billions of dollars annually and growth pegged at as much as 40% per annum, online bingo is a big moneymaker on the Internet.

Recently, a group of Internet veterans have decided to try to bring the spirit of charitable giving back into bingo by launching a new website. www.bingohelps.com has undertaken to donate 10% or more of whatever its members spend on online bingo to charitable causes chosen by the members themselves.

"Bingo has always gone together with charity. It would be very sad if the move to online bingo were to change this, and actually there is no reason for this to happen. If anything, the Internet can make charitable giving more accessible to players. With our program there is absolutely no cost nor is any effort required. Just choosing to participate is enough", said Nick Roberts, one of Bingohelps.com's founders.

The program is based on affiliation with a number of existing online bingo websites allowing members to choose from various bingo software platforms available on the market today. The sites pay a marketing commission to Bingohelps.com which then makes the donations directly to the non-profit organizations out of these proceeds.

Supported causes include respected non-profit organizations that focus on issues ranging from dealing with world hunger, to reforesting North America, to caring for alley cats in the UK.

The staff has made efforts to keep the process as hassle-free as possible. Just clicking a link on the home-page is enough to join and start giving, but a simple registration allows members to choose the cause closest to their heart and to receive e-mail reports about their giving, including documentation of the donations.

"By choosing to join our program our members are using the power of their free choice to make their own contribution, where they feel it matters. Even a small percentage of online bingo revenues going to fund social causes can make a big difference to the world we live in. We all stand to gain from this", Roberts concluded.
