HAMPSTEAD, NH (PRWEB) September 6, 2006 -- The day started like all others… frenetically fulfilling overnight orders; answering phone calls from curious shoppers the world over; reading ‘self-empowerment’ letters freshly submitted from folks in places like Michigan, Florida, Texas and North Carolina - anxious for their story to be posted on the Liv’n Out Loud! “Lifestyle” page, where other stories of pure courage and conviction reside. The energy in the office was palpable; real, raw, rigorous. The rare kind of energy that seeps then soars when something truly remarkable is evolving right before your eyes.
This was the vibe in the offices of Liv’n Out Loud! Clothing Company on Wednesday, August 23rd, when a once-in-a-lifetime ring tone pierced the peacefulness of a welcomed afternoon reprieve. “Hi, this is Amanda from Governor John Lynch’s office,” announced the excited young professional. “Governor Lynch looked at your website www.livnoutloud.com and would like to invite you to a photo shoot next Monday, August 28th at 4pm at the State House. He would like you to bring some of your Liv’n Out Loud! t-shirts, baseball hats and sweatshirts, as he would love to take some photos of the 3 of you in your Liv’n Out Loud! clothing!”
The phone call alone was historic, and we felt in our bones that something of colossal significance was about to happen to this small company…
“I found myself not breathing as I anxiously scratched down dates, times and locations on the back of scrap paper,” said Alyson Bruu, co-founder of Liv’n Out Loud! “When I hung up the phone and looked at my partner Kristine, we knew something indelible had just happened and that our company was never to be the same. Then came the waves of gratitude and pride. The Liv’n Out Loud! Clothing Company was about to be recognized and appreciated on an extremely significant level."
Kristine Fichera, co-founder of Liv’n Out Loud! said, “When we walked up the granite steps of the State House, we had the chills; we were almost speechless from the enormity of what was about to happen. We just couldn’t believe that the Governor of the great state of New Hampshire invited us to a photo shoot – for our clothes no less!”
Fichera continued, “The moment we met him, he immediately welcomed us into his personal space, shook our hands with affection, then instantly removed his suit jacket so that he could pull over his head our soft and cozy Navy Blue Hoodie Sweatshirt. He looked so handsome! We think he actually puffed out his chest a bit, as if to proudly say 'yup, this Governor is Liv’n Out Loud!'"
“After the photos were taken,” Bruu added, “a warm exchange followed. Without us having to explain anything about what Liv’n Out Loud! truly means, he captured the spirit and essence of our company in one split second, saying ‘Liv’n Out Loud! is a way of life. Yes you sell clothing, but you are encouraging a new way of thinking and being."
“He hit the nail on the head,” said Fichera. “And that’s when it became immediately clear as to why we were invited there that day; the Governor of New Hampshire applauded our entrepreneurial drive…he knew that we worked tirelessly trying to empower people on a deeply personal level, globally, … and we suspect he thought that lending his image to this fresh, meaningful brand would help thrust this critical movement of self-empowerment into a broader public arena – creating a massive buzz for the Liv’n Out Loud! Clothing Company.”
We are appreciative beyond words for the invite, for the genuinely friendly conversation, and for his heartfelt interest in seeing us do well and go far. It was a once in a lifetime experience that will be treasured for years to come.
Liv’n Out Loud! has also drawn the attention and admiration of actor and activist, Alec Baldwin, due to the fact that Liv’n Out Loud! donates a portion of all sales to the ASPCA, an organization that is close to both parties. A national Public Relations campaign, with Alec as the centerpiece, is being considered for late 2006-2007 in an effort to increase the level of donations made to the ASPCA through the Liv’n Out Loud! Clothing Company.
