Denver, Colo. (PRWEB) September 8, 2006 -- Five Colorado-based companies have been selected to present at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Mid-America VentureForum to be held September 25-27th at the InterContinental Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. The announcement is made by Denise Brown, Executive Director, Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) who says these companies are among more then 50 companies selected by venture capitalists from the nation’s leading firms who serve on BIO’s advisory board.

Selected Colorado companies include: Aurora-based ApopLogic Pharmaceuticals; Louisville-based GlobeImmune; Aurora-based Lead Horse Technologies; Parker-based BioCare Systems; and Boulder-based MBC Pharma. They will present their business plans to a national audience of venture capitalists and other potential investors.

“The five Colorado companies that were selected to participate in the VentureForum are particularly competitive and we expect them to get great results from the event,” Brown says. “The BIO Mid-America VentureForum provides Colorado with an extremely beneficial opportunity to showcase our companies. We are very grateful to the conference partners for building this event over the last several years.”

The BIO Mid-America VentureForum is co-sponsored by eight state bioscience associations: Omeris (Ohio), Colorado BioScience Association, Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization, Indiana Health Industry Forum, Iowa Biotechnology Association, LifeScience Alley, Missouri Biotechnology Association, and Wisconsin Biotechnology Association.

Now in its fourth year, the BIO Mid-America VentureForum is the Midwest’s largest annual event joining private bioscience and medical device companies in need of funding with venture capitalists, angel investors, and investment bankers from across the United States and Canada.
