Upside Down Christmas Trees
Possibly the most talked about new artificial Christmas tree design in 2005 was the upside down Christmas tree. These trees had primarily been manufactured in the past as ornament display trees in retail stores. Because the ornaments hang away from the lower branches, they’re easier to see and display. They also allow more space underneath the tree for gifts. By September of 2005, it was nearly impossible to find an upside down Christmas tree, as demand was much greater than supply. This year, it looks again as if these trees will be gone well before the holiday season. A number of new upside down Christmas trees have been made for 2006, including trees that stand alone, hang from the ceiling, and those with molded tips.
Lighting
Artificial trees of every material and style most often come pre-lit for convenience. High quality artificial Christmas trees found in specialty stores and websites can easily be assembled in minutes and look beautiful every time. With pre-lit trees the hassle of untangling light strings and getting that perfect distribution is avoided. The light strings on higher quality trees also stay lit when a single bulb goes out, saving both the time and money of replacing the string or figuring out which light needs to be replaced.
