Media Publisher Introduces Next-Generation Video Control Center™ - The First Solution to Centrally Manage and Distribute Video Across the Global Enterprise

Video Control Center makes it easy to manage thousands of video assets while scaling live, Video-On-Demand, and digital signage to audiences anywhere.
That makes it a challenge for technical teams and other departments to effectively create and distribute video across locations, and to manage all of the technical issues surrounding standards, rights and security. The Media Publisher Video Control Center addresses all of these challenges, providing control and virtually unlimited scalability.

BERKELEY, Calif. (PRWEB) September 12, 2006 –- Media Publisher Inc., the leader in Enterprise Video Communications, announced today that it has introduced its next-generation Video Control Center, the first software platform to provide centralized management and control over all components of enterprise video communications. The Video Control Center allows an organization to link together all components of the video infrastructure, including encoders, streaming servers, video conferencing end-points, Content Delivery Networks, storage and corporate portals.

Centralized controls for business video enable technical teams to manage distribution of video, while also allowing non-technical users to easily perform many video publishing tasks on their own without technical team assistance.

“There is a surge in all types of digital content created by corporations across verticals, which means enterprises need to manage and deliver a broader range of rich media communications,” said Mukul Krishna, Frost & Sullivan’s industry manager, digital media practice. “Media Publisher’s Video Control Center makes it easier for global 2000 customers to leverage business video, allowing them to communicate more efficiently and deliver a consistent message across distributed audiences.”

“The explosion in the use of business video has placed greater demands on an organization’s existing technical infrastructure,” said Robert Oakley, vice president of marketing for VBrick Systems, a Media Publisher partner. “Companies want their business video solutions to work well with their existing IT setup, so that they can make the most of their investment in corporate video. The Media Publisher Video Control Center provides the ROI and ease of use that large, geographically dispersed organizations require.”

The Video Control Center allows IT to manage and pre-configure a company’s existing video infrastructure components, thereby reducing repetitive, event-by-event environment set-up and eliminating the risk of event failure. Because the Video Control Center is web-based, IT administrators can access the system and configure the video environment from any location. The Video Control Center consists of three primary components:

  • Video Network Management: provides a “central nervous system” for all components of video infrastructure on the corporate network to enable secure and scalable video publishing.
  • Media Access Services: makes it easy for viewers at all levels to find live event and video on demand programs and view them on an ongoing basis; includes comprehensive monitoring and reporting on usage.
  • Video Asset Management: enables the creation of program bundles, including videos, documents, images and other files, and the organization of those assets into categories and channels.

With the Video Control Center, business users can perform a variety of tasks to help them manage the accessibility and distribution of business video. Companies might schedule their existing encoders such as VBrick encoder appliances, to capture and stream live event webcasting, archive to video on demand and distribute across corporate Content Delivery Networks such as Cisco ACNS or Blue Coat. For distribution across these networks, Media Publisher’s MediaNet automates end-to-end management of live webcasts that require reliable stream distribution over a network of Windows Media Servers or appliances to serve a large audience of users in many locations.

“Many businesses now have employees and offices in internationally distributed locations,” said Steve Pattison, vice president of marketing and business development for Media Publisher. “That makes it a challenge for technical teams and other departments to effectively create and distribute video across locations, and to manage all of the technical issues surrounding standards, rights and security. The Media Publisher Video Control Center addresses all of these challenges, providing control and virtually unlimited scalability.”
