Empyrean Management Group's "Would Anyone In Your HR Department Win A Popularity Contest?" a success at Arizona's state SHRM conference.

Empyrean Management Group's Jermaine Williamson and Mike Kalinsky successfully delivered "Would Anyone In Your HR Department Win A Popularity Contest?" at the Arizona State SHRM conference in Scottsdale, Arizona in early September.

(PRWEB) September 11, 2006 -- Empyrean Management Group’s Jermaine Williamson and Mike Kalinsky delivered an hour long seminar entitled “Would Anyone in your HR Department Win a Popularity Contest?” to a standing room only audience at the Arizona state SHRM conference held at Scottsdale’s Westin Kierland Resort in early September. The seminar presents ten common sense steps HR professionals can take to change perceptions within their companies.

“I have now presented this seminar at two different SHRM conferences and the reception has been outstanding. HR is a tough field that in many companies does not get the respect it deserves. Some of this lack of respect is due to HR professionals not being more proactive in several key respects. Our seminar walks an HR professional through the basic barriers they confront every day and gives them common sense tools they can use to change perceptions and improve a workforce’s reaction to HR in General,” Mike Kalinsky, Empyrean Management Group’s CEO. He continued to say, “In the last few years it has become commonplace for HR organizations to describe the employees they serve as clients and to speak in more business like terms. Unfortunately, using the words and running the HR department like a business are two things that do not happen often enough.”

In March of this year, Kalinsky delivered this presentation to HR Houston’s HR Conference and received high marks from the audience. Kalinsky and Williamson’s delivery of this important topic mixes in humor and “real world” examples drawn from their ten plus years each of experience working for companies like Aerotek, Capital One, Sapient, HSBC, Cardinal Health, and many others.

“I think our company’s diverse client pool as well as the fact that we work with a varied client base allows us to reach a high percentage of our audience. When an HR manager from a defense contractor specializing in unmanned reconnaissance drones asked a question she felt was unique to her industry Mike and I were able to give her real world answers based on our experiences working with defense contractors that meant something to her,” Jermaine Williamson, of Empyrean Management Group.
