Startup Company Focuses on the "Last Frontier" of Home Furnishings: Outfitting the Garage

For home and professionals. An ultra-premium line of furnishings for the dream garage.

Portland, Ore. (PRWEB) September 14, 2006 -- While virtually every room in the house has evolved over the years, from entertainment centers in the living room, to modern kitchens with a plethora of matching appliances in a variety of modern styles - one of the largest and most utilized rooms, the garage has remained relatively stagnant over time.

That's about to change, as Vault, the premier brand for the complete garage experience, has been hard at work bringing the whole garage environment tastefully up-to-date, in what amounts to the greatest evolution of the space since the invention of the garage-door opener.

The concept of decorating and furnishing the garage is new to the home improvement industry and Vault is leading the charge to bring impeccable style and quality craftsmanship to a part of the home that had been thought of as perfunctorily functional.

Billed as the originator of the world's first "professional-grade" furnishings for the residential garage, Vault has launched a diverse line of 29 different styles of stainless steel cabinets, workbenches and tool chests. Coupled with the firms other products, which include floor coatings, carriage-style doors and slatwalls they will forever change the way you think about the garage. This complete assortment is augmented by customization capabilities, enabling the most personalized and complete garage.

The integrated line allows homeowners to outfit the entire garage without having to mix-and-match different brands and conflicting styles. These ultra-premium furnishings are the culmination of an exhaustive design and engineering effort to build the finest cabinetry ever handcrafted from metal.

The production process combines cutting edge manufacturing technologies along with quality hand craftsmanship to yield a uniquely beautiful end product, built for a lifetime of use.

"Every Vault cabinet is handcrafted in America from start to finish, from the highest quality materials, such as furniture-grade stainless steel, solid stainless handles and the finest hardware," said Chad Haas, President of Vault.

The end result attains a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail not possible in conventional mass-produced pieces.

"You can quickly spend thousands of dollars on storage cabinets and what do you get for your investment? Cheap, extruded aluminum handles that dent easy and a storage unit that sounds like a gym locker because it is made from thin, cheap metal. The drawers are flimsily made and the box rusts quickly after it is scratched. Until now, the result has been high cost with low quality performance," explained Haas.

Vault may have set a new standard in visual storage presentation, but don't let their handsome design diminish their performance. "First and foremost, we designed these cabinets to endure the most demanding of applications" added Haas.

Constructed from heavy-gauge stainless steel for a stunning and durable finish, the outer shell features double-skinned walls that are reinforced with stiffening flanges and welded reinforcing plates.

Suspended by heavy-duty ball bearing drawer slides, fully loaded drawers open with ease. Accessing items is never stressful because full-extension hardware allows easy access to the furthest reaches of the drawer.

The result is a cabinet that will last a lifetime of use.

Prices for Vault furnishings range from $1,075 for the smallest wall cabinet up to $10,500 for the striking Triple Workchest, a 72" long tool storage cabinet which features 21 drawers and weighs in at a stout 770lbs.

These luxury cabinets exceed the cost of standard tool chests or cabinets, but yield a uniquely beautiful end product that is unequaled in terms of quality and performance. Considering their outstanding performance and design appeal, there's reason to believe that Vault may be onto something as outfitter to the world's finest garages.

Every Vault cabinet is custom-made to match its owner's unique preferences, and the extensive list of options is a huge part of the brand's appeal.

"We offer products in 6 exterior color finishes or brushed stainless, with polished stainless trims as an appearance upgrade. Then there is the work surface: clients can choose from either PaperStone (a durable product made from post consumer recycled paper and water-based resin that has the appearance of soapstone) or a brushed stainless top as an option."

"With twenty-nine different styles, to choose from and thousands of custom combinations of exterior color and trim options, customers truly can have a one-of-a-kind garage". Haas continues. "There are virtually an unlimited number of individualization possibilities".

Through its bespoke manufacturing process, Vault allows clients the freedom to commission some of their cabinets for a fully fitted garage.

Haas explained that one client wanted a custom sized base cabinet (called a Workbase by Vault) where an exact measurement between the company's standard widths were required to drop in a sink. In addition to the custom vanity, Vault will regularly build workbenches in custom lengths to accommodate specific size requirements. Vault works closely with architects, builders, and homeowners to "ensure that their vision is carried out in even the smallest details", added Haas.

"The level of customization is another benefit to choosing Vault products. No other company offers this level of customization in metal cabinetry. In wood cabinets custom sizing is commonplace, but not in metal," added Haas.

Haas explained that Vault cabinets are not just for gearheads, "Our Chest cabinet is a very versatile piece of furniture. Like an Armoire, they can store a full wardrobe of hunting clothes or tall items like fishing rods or a gun collection, but they can also be ordered with shelves to store cans of paint, cleaning supplies and household chemicals that you might want to keep under the lock and key and out of the reach of children."

Some clients have even considered inviting the cabinets into other areas of their home. During a recent exhibition, numerous women declared their desire to take their kitchen to another high-level because they "couldn't find anything near the quality or beauty of our cabinets, particularly our drawers which are unequaled in any industry," Haas recalls. "I can't imagine them having the same reaction about a Snap-On or Craftsman [tool box] serving as a buffet in their homes that's for sure".

Combining the functionality of traditional tool storage with the form of classic panel-and-frame cabinet construction, the handsome Vault cabinets are bound to be a focal point of any space they inhabit.
