On September 15th, the grand opening of the painting exhibit of the artist Leonardo Pereznieto was held in the Museo della Chiesa di Santo Stefano, located in downtown Florence, Italy.
Florence, Italy (PRWEB) September 19, 2006 -- Leonardo began his European exhibit tour doing the opening of his exhibit in the Florentine Museum. This museum dates back to the 1300's and houses a permanent art exhibit with works from Renaissance masters, including Giotto, Francesco Granacci, Filippo Lippi, and Paolo Uccello, etc. In the area for temporary exhibits, Leonardo Pereznieto showed his most recent works which included paintings in oil and pastel.
The opening ceremony of the art exhibit was performed by Vitto Aba, Director of the event, the Mexican Consul in Florence, Cosimo di Nocera, and by Leonardo Pereznieto himself. Among the large public attendance were present the Ambassador of France, the Executive Director of the Celebrity Centre Florence of the Church of Scientology Luca Baratti as well as classical guitarist Flavio Cucchi and painter Marta Lupi, amongst many others.
The works of Pereznieto, which are sensual and romantic, are representative of the new artistic movement of postromanticism which Leonardo Pereznieto cofounded with the writer Claudia Moscovici, from the University of Michigan.
In this way, the artist continues with his successful international trajectory. Last year Leonardo Perez nieto was awarded by the International Art Festival and was praised by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) and by the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City.
From here, Leonardo will continue his European tour. On September 29th, he will hold another exhibit in the Mozart Galery in Nice, France, one of the most glamorous and artistic cities of the Cote d´Azur.
