Global Warming, Yo-Yoing Gas Prices Push Sales of Fun-to-drive NmG All-electric Vehicle
While others show drawings of the electric vehicles they plan to make or try to sell EVs only movie stars can afford, Myers Motors LLC has been delivering its NmG (No More Gas) Personal Electric Vehicle to Americans--from a business manager of a high-tech start-up business in San Jose, Calif., to a security guard in Hudson Falls, New York.
Tallmadge Ohio (PRWEB) September 20, 2006 -- While others show drawings of the electric vehicles they plan to make or try to sell EVs only movie stars can afford, Myers Motors LLC has been delivering its NmG (No More Gas) Personal Electric Vehicle to Americans who want to “Have Fun Saving the World!”
“NmG drivers are blazing a trail others will follow to a cleaner, more efficient world,” said Dana Myers, president of Myers Motors. “As Americans, we have seen that we absolutely must severe our ties with off-shore oil-producers who can cripple our way of life.”
The timing could not have been better for Myers Motors to launch the sale of its NmG this summer. The message about the importance of this emerging technology has been taken mainstream via two rounds of $3-per-gallon gasoline in less than a year, continuing unrest in the oil-rich Middle East, and media exposure to the growing environmental issues (“An Inconvenient Truth”) and automakers’ reluctance to embrace the EVs (“Who Killed the Electric Car?”).
“We are pleased with sales,” Dana said. The company has delivered NmGs to wide range of people, from a business manager of a high-tech start-up business in San Jose, Calif., to a security guard in Hudson Falls, New York.
The single-passenger, three-wheeled NmG has outstanding acceleration, can reach speeds of 70 mph and has a range of 30 miles between charges. A unique driving experience is gained through the NmG’s low center of gravity and its power being delivered via the single rear wheel.
The company calculates that a driver charged 11 cents per kilowatt will pay about 55 cents for the “fill up” that powers the NmG about 30 miles. The pollution-free NmG can be fully recharged in 6 to 8 hours using a 110-volt outlet and less than half that time using a 220-volt outlet.
“The NmG fits the way Americans use their cars,” Dana said. “Research shows that 87 percent of all commutes are less than 20 miles and 93 percent of those commutes are with one person only in the vehicle.”
Priced at $24,900, the NmG comes in dazzling exterior colors. Standard amenities include audio system, adjustable bucket seat, accessory outlets, 6-cubic-foot trunk, power windows, and heater.
Trailblazer status comes standard, too.
In its small plant in Tallmadge, Ohio, Myers Motors devoted more than a year enhancing key components of a ground-breaking electric vehicle to create the NmG. Myers Motors’ NmG keeps its ancestor’s stunning exterior unchanged while almost everything under its sleek shell has been upgraded to improve reliability and performance.
Myers Motors’ team of workers proudly hand-builds each of these “vehicles of the future” using old fashioned American quality and pride. The vehicles are built at Myers Motors’ production facility in Tallmadge, Ohio, a small community near Akron. For more information, contact Myers Motors at 330-630-3768 or visit www.myersmotors.com.
