GreenManRadio Second Podcast Released
Unique blend of gardening e-magazine and podcast featuring popular editor, lecturer and garden writer Glen O. Seibert, "The GreenMan."
Des Moines, IA (PRWEB) September 22, 2006 -- GreenManRadio.com, the newly launched gardening and landscaping podcast and e-magazine by Master Gardener and garden writer Glen O. Seibert, distributed its second podcast this evening.
The program features questions sent in by listeners, gardening tips and techniques, a gardening events calendar, and articles specializing not in just how-to topics but, as Seibert calls them, "Why To."
"I believe that if a listener understands some of the basic science, the botany, behind how plants work, they'll be more sucessful in their own gardening," Seibert explains.
"Most folks that I consult are primarily interested in how they can keep from killing the plants they buy for their gardens. 'WhyTo Gardening' gives them some insight into how plants work. That will help the gardener make more informed decisions about what plant to put where, how to care for it and what to expect from it.
GreenManRadio.com's unique format combines an e-magazine website with podcasting, a method of distributing media files, such as audio programs, over the internet using RSS syndication feeds.
A syndication feed is downloaded automatically to the subscriber's computer using an always-running program called an aggregator, or "podcatcher". From there the podcatcher makes the show availabletoplay either to an mp3 device, such as the Apple iPod, or directly from the subscriber's computer.
In the coming week GreenManRadio.com will be podcasting from the 2007 Fashion in Bloom "pack trials" in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake Virginia and West Grove, Pennsylvania.
This event is to gardening and horticulture what Fashion Week in New York is to the apparel industry.
It is the only time all year when dozens of world-class breeders and growers assemble in one location, and thirty six world-class horticultural companies will present their new plant offerings forthe 2007 season.
GreenManRadio.com is expected to be the only podcast media covering this event.
