Costume Wearing Pooches to Take Over the Rack for Howl-o-ween Fest
SkyBark in association with Dog Day Afternoon will host a Howl-o-ween Fest for people and their pooches in Boston.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 28, 2006 -- You asked for it, so we are bringing it. SkyBark in association with the Rack’s Dog Day Afternoon is coming back! On October 19, 2006 beginning at 5:30pm, the dogs will come running and howling to our Howl-o-ween Festival at the Rack, located at 24 Clinton St in Faneuil Hall.
The innovative concept of SkyBark began with a simple premise of allowing people to enjoy the nightlife with their pets, and in doing so help support a great cause. Each event benefits a worthy local charity. The Howl-o-ween Fest will benefit the local Boston charity, the Animal Rescue League of Boston. This charity is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing domesticated animals and wildlife from suffering, cruelty, abandonment, and neglect. Since 1899 the League has advocated the philosophy of its founder, Anna Harris Smith, that “kindness uplifts the world”.
Located on five campuses in Boston, Dedham, Brewster and Pembroke, the League offers critical programs and services to the hundreds of communities in Massachusetts. The League also maintains a low cost mobile spay/neuter clinic – The Spay Waggin’ – to assist with pet overpopulation as well as a summer day camp in Cataumet, on Cape Cod. Helping animals and people for over 107 years, the League aims to be the leader among animal welfare organizations in providing rescue and law enforcement services and promoting a compassionate and responsible attitude towards all living beings.
In order to help achieve this goal of the Animal Rescue League, SkyBark in association with the Rack will sponsor a Howl-o-ween Festival for all the local pet owners and doggies in the neighborhood. The event will feature a dog bar with dogtinis and treats, special goodie bags for the first 200 people, a doggie costume show, music, a silent auction, special guests, and more! Some of the fabulous items being auctioned off include designer pet fashions by Donald J. Pliner, Oscar Newman, and FabDog, as well as other items which will be listed on the event website a couple of weeks before the event. As always, PETaPOTTY, an indoor lawn toilet system, will sponsor indoor dog potty areas for your dog to do his or her bathroom duties.
The event will be located at The Rack (24 Clinton Street Boston, MA) and will begin at 5:30p.m. The event will be open to all ages until 7pm and then after that 21+ only. Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child (under 15) pre-sale; door prices are $15 per adult and $10 per child. For this event all pooches will be allowed in free of charge!
