Modern Treatments for Migraines and Frequent Headaches

Today's cranial headache treatments provide a permanent end to years of needless suffering. Dr. John Halmaghi at the Michigan TMJ/Headache Institute explains the reasons behind migraine headaches. His unique program is guaranteed to permanently end chronic suffering from migraines and frequent headaches. He also explains why your previous doctors have not been able to help you.

(PRWEB) September 29, 2006 -- Medical researchers estimate that at least 20% of the population suffers from frequent headaches and migraines. Migraine is one of the top twenty causes of losing years of healthy life and account for loss of over 150 million work days per year.

Popular medical belief is that migraine continues to be an unexplained medical problem. Dr. John Halmaghi at the Michigan TMJ/Headache Institute sees thousands of headache sufferers who have gone from doctor to doctor looking for answers to their migraine pain. Each new physician, or therapist, claims expertise in pain management and proceeds to treat it accordingly. Unfortunately, the migraine cause is never explained and pain relief is rarely accomplished.

Unlike common headache treatments, Dr. Halmaghi offers a fully guaranteed pain program to permanently end years of chronic suffering and return his patients to a normal life again. Dr. Halmaghi explains to his patients that they have been inadequately or incorrectly diagnosed: “The majority of my patients have been wrongly educated about their pain problem. Despite popular belief, migraines are NOT unexplained vascular events or an unknown neurologic problem. Migraines result due to an underlying skeletal imbalance problem which causes unusual function of the muscles, nerves (specifically the trigeminal), and arteries of the head. This abnormal function is NOT easy to diagnose or detect, and therefore it is rarely observed clinically by doctors.”

Contemporary research indicates there is general agreement in the medical community that the trigeminal vascular complex is involved in all migraines. This complex is comprised of the trigeminal neural system and associated blood vessels. The trigeminal is the primary nerve that carries pain impulses from your mouth, teeth, head, face, sinuses, eyes, ears, and neck to your central nervous system. The trigeminal system is one of the major pain signaling structures of the brain. Your brain spends over 40% of its daily energy deciphering the impulses that are created by this nerve. This nerve is also responsible for directing and controlling the blood flow of the arteries within the brain itself.

The trigeminal nerve does not go into a state of dysfunction without reason! Dr. Halmaghi says that “It is a skeletal imbalance between your jaws, head, neck and shoulders that elicits hyperactivity in the trigeminal nerve. This leads to improper function of the blood vessels that the trigeminal nerve controls. It also leads to an increase in muscular activity which worsens the imbalance problem.”

Dr. Halmaghi uses cranial X-Rays and EMG studies to precisely detect and pinpoint the root of the skeletal imbalance problem which causes the headaches. Dr. Halmaghi states, “Our experience and research has clearly determined that 95% of ALL headaches are caused by abnormal muscle tension and trigeminal nerve dysfunction. This problem can be related to genetic factors, stress, improper harmony of the jaws, misalignment of the neck, breakdown of the jaw joint, and various other reasons that cause abnormal function. Tension and/or imbalance can cause a constant strain on your head, jaws, face, and neck. In order to provide an effective headache cure, we find the problem that causes the misalignment, and cure it…permanently.”

Effective headache cure can be implemented once the correct diagnosis is made. Common drugs that try to diminish and regulate blood flow are NOT proper treatment. They are simply an inadequate substitute for lack of understanding. In fact, medications are unnecessary and even dangerous. No medication addresses the migraine cause!

Fortunately, there are now modern and completely effective drug-free treatment strategies, even for patients who have been suffering needlessly for decades.
