Sabrina Houssami, Centrebet's Hot Favourite to Win Miss World Competition
Sabrina Houssami, a Sydney University student is bidding to become the second Australian woman to win the famous Miss World pageant. Following a month-long tour of the country, Sabrina has been a part of the 56th Miss World Competition, the biggest event to take place in modern Poland.
(PRWEB) September 30, 2006 -- The last Miss World Winner was Belinda Green in 1972. Despite not winning any of the Specialist heats, Aussie representative Sabrina Houssami is still Centrebet's favourite to be crowned Miss World. Miss World Iceland 2005 was also the global betting favourite before taking out the prestigious crown last year.
Miss World – The Final is the World’s largest live annual TV event with global viewing figures topping two billion across nearly 200 countries. More than just a beauty pageant, Miss World contestants are assessed on athleticism, intelligence, talent, deportment and a healthy body image sporting a swimsuit.
The Miss World “Beauty with a Purpose” focus also ensures that they are measured on their contribution to charities. But it’s not all competition. Internationally-successful Irish boy band Westlife will join singing legend Robin Gibb and his Band and pop opera singers Amici to entertain the audience at the Miss World 2006 Final in Warsaw, Poland, on September 30th. Miss World Organisation Chairman Mrs Julia Morley said: “We are pleased to bring such a superb international line up to Poland. The girls are looking forward to taking the stage alongside these acclaimed musicians. The 56th Miss World Final will definitely be a show to remember.”
