Caribbean Island Margarita Venezuela Undergoes a Major Facelift

Margarita Island has always been visited by people from Canada, the U.K. and the U.S. but til now it seems as if there has never been a more serious time as this. It is not only the tourism industry that would like to see this island in better shape and see much less trash around. Locals in Margarita want the same for themselves. It truly cannot begin to be a better place for everyone unless the people who already live here see the importance in it for themselves.

Margarita Island's Aeropuerto Internacional del Caribe "General Santiago Mariño" is still currently undergoing renovations that will better acommodate the thousands of national and international Air travelers that are visiting the island this year. Now not only the airport but many other parts of the island are getting the much needed attention that it deserves.

La Isleta is a city in Margarita Island, just this past weekend their Governor Morel Rodríguez was shown such a tremendous amount of appreciation for the big job that his crew brought to pass in this part of the island.

La Islet has a new face and the locals feel as if they have a fresh start to keep their part of the island looking clean again. Norelys Medina, said: "Our governor, Morel Rodríguez, sent his workers to La Isleta with his cleaning brigade and we now have a beautiful place one to be proud of, but we will all need to work together to keep it this way. Now that this tremendous job has been done it now rests on our shoulders to keep it this way."

It took 8 days to clean all of their 18 streets and make this community look the way it does today. This is just one part of the island. This has already taken place in many other sectors on the island.

Margarita Island has never looked so beautiful, it truly is looking more and more like a wonderful paradise island that we already know it is. It's a no wonder it's called the Pearl of the Caribbean!
