Forget New Year's Resolutions; Seize the Future with a New Life Plan at SuperViva.com

A cancer survivor inspires thousands to take control of their destiny with a fun new Web site, http://www.superviva.com, to help people shape their ideal life.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 2, 2007 -- SuperViva.com, a new Web site created to inspire people to envision and plan fulfilling dream lives, is setting forth a challenge to Netizens worldwide to forego the typical "New Years" resolutions in 2007-and instead create aspirations within a balanced plan for the year and for life.

"New Years resolutions are oxymoronic," said SuperViva founder Susie Wyshak. "We know our chances for success are slim because we tend to focus on problems and anticipate failure. SuperViva offers a better way to start the year: You make a balanced life list of dreams and goals-including the weight loss and finance essentials-then get help embarking on the things you want to happen in 2007."

Already thousands have joined the free site (http://www.superviva.com) to build and manage lists of their future goals and accomplishments, meet others with similar dreams, and get tips and motivation to take action.

Ms. Wyshak began working on SuperViva after enduring cancer, an event that motivated her into working toward her personal dreams. During her recovery, she decided it was time to make her dream of a life list Website a reality to manage her own life list and to help others. "Something like cancer inevitably changes your outlook on life. You can either retreat or begin to live fearlessly. SuperViva is intended to inspire people everywhere to proactively shape their lives so they look back with no regrets."

"Research my family tree" …… "Donate blood" …… "Speak Spanish like a native" ……
"Swim in the Mediterranean at midnight" …… "See the Aurora Borealis"

These are just a glimpse into the nearly 15,000 experiences that SuperViva members want to do before they die. "Creating a SuperViva Life List is not a rigid "must accomplish" list of goals," continued Wyshak. "It's more like a dynamic 'a la carte menu' of both big and little things you could do with your own life, for your family, your community and beyond. You'll see many traditional 'resolutions' listed as goals. But they're only a small piece of the annual and life plan for most of our members."

Much more than a fun way to envision your dream life, joining SuperViva makes you part of an inspiring community that constantly and dynamically changes with people's lives and priorities and the events of the world. "It's a wonderful tool for me to reflect on and be inspired by, as well as to get me to inspire others," says member Birgitte, who attributes her new lease on life to SuperViva.

Member Heathervescent looks to her life list for reflection and reinforcement: "I look at my list when I want to remember everything I've done or when I am feeling scared that I can't do something. Then I see everything I've accomplished and feel like I can take on the world!"

Scott Allen, author of the "The Virtual Handshake," says that "just feeling connected and loved--a sense of belonging--is certainly a purpose of social networks. But eventually you graduate from that into self-actualization, and that's what SuperViva is all about. It's clearly designed not to be just a place to dream, but to actually help people accomplish life goals."

Join SuperViva.com and Answer Not "What should I resolve" but "What do I want from life?"

  • Browse or search for ideas based on interest--and peek voyeuristically at others' goals. (You can make your list private or just hide some of your goals.)

  • Copy ideas to your list for a quick start. Like "buy a house" and "research my family tree."
  • Have fun organizing your Life List, such as putting "maybe" ideas on the "backburner" for later.

  • Get your friends to join the fun! Challenge each other to make 2007 the best year of your lives!
